Plastic Tubing
Plastic tubing of various lengths and bores constructed of materials suitable for general laboratory, biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, medical, vacuum, low-pressure, high-pressure, cleanroom or environmental applications. Products may be chemical- or corrosion-resistant. Formulated for resistance to flex fatigue and abrasion, plastic tubing is more flexible and less permeable than rubber tubing.
How Is Plastic Tubing Used?
Flexible plastic tubing may be used as transfer lines for contamination fluid control, hydraulics, protective jacketing, vacuum pump and diaphragm pump feeds and discharges, refrigeration, water and fluid lines, food and beverage, instrumentation, research laboratories, agriculture, material handling, air and gas lines, chemical lines and pharmaceuticals.
Types of Plastic Tubing:
• PVC: lightweight and flexible, will retain its bore on bending and can be sterilized up to 121°C
• Silicone: ideal where a hard-wearing material is needed, including transfer of liquids or higher temperature environments
• LDPE: good for general low pressure and temperature, instrumentation, corrosive atmosphere, and food processing
• PTFE: has excellent chemical-resistant and temperature-resistant properties
• PE: flexible, lightweight, durable, and corrosion resistant, used for a wide range of liquid, gas, and fluid transfer applications
• FEP: clear, small-diameter tubing, the economical choice for chemical resistance and broad temperature exposure
• PEEK: high-performance polymer with mechanical and chemical resistance, and highly resistant to thermal degradation

A good general-purpose tubing material, vinyl tubing (also known as PVC tubing) offers good chemical resistance. Its transparency allows easy visual identification of flow through the tube. This vinyl tubing's good abrasion resistance means you can use it in a laboratory, on a shop floor, or on a production bench. Vinyl tubing can be used within the temperature range of -45 to 180¿F (-43 to 82¿C).

Altafluor 400 PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy) is the product of choice for applications involveing extreme chemical resistance combined with high temperature. Altifluor 400 is made exclusively from 100% virgin grade high performance resin used to resist stress cracking. The highest molecular weight resins available giving it superior physical properties making it suitable for even the most demanding applications. Chemically inert to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents. It has a higher thermal stability than FEP. is translucent in appearance. It is FDA compliant for food contact, FDA 21 CFR 177.1550. It meets the requirements of USP Class VI, is non-flammable and has a moisture absorption of nearly zero. Altafluor is compatible with flare of conventional fittings.
Accuflow Systems Altafluor 100 PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) - 100 PTFE 8MM X 10MM - 25 FT
Altafluor 100 PTFE was the original TEFLON material developed by E.I.DUPONT CO. PTFE is the most flexiible of all fluoropolymers offered. It has the broadest temperature range of any fluoropolymer and can resist highly corrosive liquids and gases even at elevated temperatures. The smooth surface finish and lowest coefficient of friction and lubricity make it ideal for bushing or bearing applications. Non-flammable. Non-toxic. FDA compliant -21 CFR 177.1550. Very low permeability. Altafluor 100 is compatible with most standard fittings (not suitable for use with flare-type fittings). Applications include use in laboratories, chemical processes, analytical and process equipment, crogenic, electrical, high temp and automotive. Manufactured from 100% virgin grade PTFE resins, it is the most flexible, is chemically inert and resistant to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents.

Saint-Gobain Tygon S3 E-3603 tubing is a flexible, high-clarity thermoplastic tubing formulated for laboratory, medical, and diagnostic fluid handling where chemical compatibility and visual inspection are required. The E-3603 formulation is phthalate-free (non-DEHP), non-oxidizing, and features a glassy-smooth inner bore to minimize buildup and carryover. Three-Stop PVC Color-coded Autoanalysis Tubing for Ismatec Pumps is USP Class VI tubing that is Phthalate-free. Plasticizer is very tightly bonded into the material, preventing any leaching of component chemicals into the medium being transported, maintaining its sterility. The overall length of Lab PVC 95625-series stop tubing is 16" (406 mm). The legacy Ismatec stop tubing was 400 mm long.
